The Idea I have for my vodka would be an extremely clean and
neutral vodka with no impurities. Due to its clean and clear nature it would
have the name Crystalline. It would use distilled water to remove any
impurities from the water that could detract from the clean crispness of the
drink. Its neutral flavor means it could go with just about anything. You have
a nice meal and not worry about if the flavor of the food or if you just had
another drink and want something that has a nice clean taste. It isn’t meant to
overpower or make its taste a predominant one, though you could enjoy its taste
it isn’t one that will spoil anything you just had. This is a drink you could
have on a night out with some friends having a good time or if you just want to
relax at home and want something that isn’t going to hit you too hard. This
could be a drink you mix other beverages or just enjoy on its own. You could
choose to enhance its flavor or just enjoy its crisp clean nature as it is. This
is a drink that could be used for just about any occasion and, again due to its
clean and neutral nature, doesn’t limit itself as something would be had at a
certain time of year or for a certain celebration. It could be used for
celebration or relaxation, it could be used for just about anything or whatever
the person drinking the beverage would want to enjoy it. This drink invites a
person to make of it whatever they want. The name Crystalline brings forth an
idea of clear purity. It is a drink that is clear, crisp, and clean, won’t
overpower you, and can be enjoyed for any occasion.

Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting
Job recruiters using Facebook to
find new employees is an interesting idea. There are already job boards, such as
LinkedIn, that are created for this purpose I can see why they would want to go
to Facebook though, this website has more than 750 million users, many more
users than the job board sites, so therefore it wouldn’t be hard to find
somebody that would want to work on a website with so many people. “Facebook's
use as a job-recruitment tool remains small, but its appeal may be growing.
Some recruiters say they have all but eliminated their spending on job boards,
which can charge a few hundred dollars per job posting, depending on volume (Job
Recruiters Turn to Facebook-WSJ).” It hasn’t phased out job boards yet, but
some people worry that it might. While some people have been hired through
Facebook, jobs requiring more experience and higher level positions are still
being done through the normal job board websites such as LinkedIn. “Marketers
are working to harness the power of these new social networks to promote their
products and build closer customer relationships (Marketing, an Introduction,
142).” People use social media outlets, such as Facebook, a lot today. This is
a great way for people to connect with other people, so therefore it would make
sense that it would be a good place to find people for some work. They are already
on this website so it makes sense to go where the people are already. Some of
the downsides of this are that the job board websites are affected negatively
from this, and Facebook is a social media website, a place where people go to
communicate with each other, it is a little informal compared to job board
websites where people find people based on professional connections and then
discover jobs through that mean. It is interesting that people can get jobs
through Facebook, but it appears that jobs require more experience would be
posted through job boards.

Week 4 EOC: The Cult of Apple
An idea for an app I have would be a sample based
synthesizer. The idea would be that you could take a sound, put it in this app,
and then do whatever you want with it and, if you want, put it in a sequence
with other sounds you have or created. You could either import audio from a
file on your phone, record a sound from the built in microphone, record a sound
from the sound card of your phone, or even use an internal synth to make
whatever sounds you want. When you have it recorded you can filter the sound,
distort, modulate, or just completely destroy the sound you have and make it
something completely different. This could be used by anybody who is interested
in making a composition based on samples, or even making sound effects wherever
and whenever they would want. It could function as a bit of a digital audio
workspace as well as it is a sound recorder you can layer and distort sound
with. This could be used by musicians, sound designers on the go, and anybody
that would just want to play around with something that simply messes around
with sound. One instance that this app could be used for is somebody is walking
around and they hear something, whether they like the tone or timbre of the
sound, record it and add it to their library of sounds they have recorded. From
there a person could leave it alone, add it to a composition, make it an
interesting sound effect, or even export whatever interesting sound you have in
whatever format works best for you. The app could even be used in conjunction
with other apps to publish your sound or work to whatever platform you want. I
could see myself using this app as I am a person that enjoys playing around
with various sounds.
